John P. Longmire, DDS
Dr. Longmire was born and raised in New Orleans, LA where he attended elementary, high school, college and Loyola University School of Dentistry. Following dental school graduation he served three years in the US Army during Viet Nam war and he returned to Charity Hospital in New Orleans where he completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1976.
Following completion of his residency he practiced in Lafayette, LA until 1987 when he moved to Tampa following the collapse of the Louisiana oil industry in the mid-1980s.
Dr. Longmire is board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a member of many professional organizations, some of which are the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Florida Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the National Dental Society of Anesthesiology and the Florida Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
He is married and has five children and thirteen grandchildren. Although he is an avid bicyclist, usually riding over 2,500 miles each year, he also enjoys motorcycling, day hiking out west with his wife, kayaking and off-roading in his Jeep. He has a son serving in the US Air Force and a son-in-law serving in the US Marines.
