James R. Green, DMD

Dr. James R. Green was born and raised in Gainesville, FL. Growing up in a family of Gators he always desired to attend the University of Florida. Dr. Green attended the University of Florida for his undergraduate and graduate studies. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 2003 and then was accepted to attend the College of Dentistry. He obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Florida in 2008.

Dr. Green completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Anesthesia training at a Cornell affiliated hospital, The Brooklyn Hospital Center, in Brooklyn, NY. In his final year of residency he acted as the chief resident of the oral surgery program.

In July of 2012, Dr. Green joined the practice of Dr. John P. Longmire. He is also affiliated with St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa where he routinely is on call for facial trauma and other dental related emergencies.

Showing interest in research and education, Dr. Green has been involved in multiple research projects as well as presenting them at different scientific meetings. His research entails oral pathology, reconstruction, and facial trauma. He is also a contributing author in dental textbooks. He continues this interest in research and education through his involvement in the Hillsborough County Dental Research Clinic and the Tampa Dental Study Club.

Dr. Green is a member of multiple state and national associations in which he holds leadership positions. These associations include the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and West Coast Dental Association.

u9j9gjgn2t7ir1w783olorjrlDr. Green joined the Tampa Bay Lightning as the official oral surgeon with the 2014 season. We support the team and are pleased that they made it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals last season. Go Bolts! 

Dr. Green is supported by his wife, Lauren, and two children. He enjoys spending his time with family and friends watching Florida Gator football games and running, but his favorite hobby is spending time with his children.  Dr. Green and his wife are proud members of the Tampa community and enjoy giving back to local schools and charities whenever possible.
