Oral Pathology
The inside of the mouth is normally lined with a special type of skin (mucosa) that is smooth and coral pink in color. Any alteration in this appearance could be a warning sign for a pathological process. The most serious of these is oral cancer. The following can be signs at the beginning of a pathological process or cancerous growth:
- Reddish patches (erythroplasia) or whitish patches (leukoplakia) in the mouth
- A sore that fails to heal and bleeds easily
- A lump or thickening on the skin lining the inside of the mouth
- Chronic sore throat or hoarseness and/or difficulty in chewing or swallowing
These changes can be detected on the lips, cheeks, palate, and gum tissue around the teeth, tongue, face, and/or neck. Pain does not always occur with pathology, and curiously, is not often associated with oral cancer. However, any patient with facial and/or oral pain without an obvious cause or reason may also be at risk for oral cancer.
We would recommend performing an oral cancer self-examination monthly. Remember that your mouth is one of your body’s most important warning systems. Do not ignore suspicious lumps or sores. Please contact us so we can assist you with any questions or concerns.

I was in the hospital for two day with a tooth infection that had the whole side of my face swollen to where I couldn’t see. Dr. Green came in and right away took care of me. I got discharged and went straight over there and immediately the staff was ready to go, I waited maybe two seconds and that was it. I was very nervous and anxious but knew I was in good hands. Got done w the procedure and immediately felt 100 x better. I highly recommend Dr. Green and his staff for your dental work. All I can say is WOW!

As a first time patient and first time teeth removal, I had no idea what to expect. I can honestly it was much easier than I ever imagined. Dr. Green was fantastic, and I had very little pain. The staff was also very friendly. I would go to Dr. Green again with no hesitation and also would recommend him to my friends.

i must say I was very nervous, because I heard so many different things about getting my wisdom teeth removed. That it would be painful, that I would wake up in the middle of the procedure and etc. They were all wrong, aside from the normal pain, it was a breeze. I went in that morning and didn't even have to wait, the procedure was explained to me step by step and I have no complaints at all. Dr. Green and his staff were s helpful and made sure that I left with all my questions answered and made sure if I has any other questions, they were only one call away. If I ever need anymore work done in the future or know of any family or friend members that need their wisdom teeth removed, Dr. Green would be my first choice.
